Around the Stables

The team continue to work  well and are racing accordingly, with a winner and two seconds at Timaru.  Sir Ram, Cangowest, Miss Lisadell and Oscars Dream are getting through their assignments and are waiting to get back to the races all should  go well in a fresh state.  Grasshopper has thrived since her run at Riccarton for 2nd and will go very close in her next start.
Jardena, Masons Run and Bejewelled have come through Timaru very well and Miss Tessa will have another chance to find form on better footing(weather dependant) at Timaru or Waimate.

Shane will head to Sydney on Wednesday to put his eye over Faaltless who is in the hands of the Tim Martin stable in Rosehill, who are doing a terrific job with him while Shane comes home.  Faaltless will run on Saturday in his grade again, we will look to claim this week with  a 3kg claim, he has improved from his fresh up run and should go very close on Saturday.

02/06/22011

We are still very quiet with many horses spelling and freshening up, we have had many good results in recent outings with our winter horses at Riccarton  Jardena(3) Grasshopper (2)  at the meeting before at Timaru Inquisition(5) Bradnor (4) and Masons Run(6) all put in top perfromances in their outings in Heavy Conditions.  Faaltless has departed for Sydney where he will be based at the stable of Tim Martin.  We are really pleased with the condition of Cangowest, Miss Lisadell,   Oscars Dream and Sir Ram who will not be far off getting back to the races.

10/05/2011

Clipping season is upon us with six horses done in two days and we are rolling more out this week, hopefully all will be completed before Shane heads to Singapore.

All horses are well, with Faaltless coming through his fresh up run in fantastic order and horses that are galloping at the moment are pleasing us and hopefully will carry this on to the race track, Grasshoppper especially is working well and looks in fantastic order.  Masons Run, Inquisition, Senorita Lopez and Bradnor will head to Timaru on Friday.  Gore is the next meeting after Timaru with Bejewelled and Lil Miss Tait heading down.    Jardena and Grasshopper, Miss Tessa, Bradnor will at this stage be aimed at the next Riccarton Meeting.

Lucky Unicorn filly Lucy has arrived back after pre-training and has fitted back in to the routine, Mt Difficulty will leave for the spelling paddock in the morning for a much deserved spell.

03/5/2011

The Aftershock had returned to the stables this afternoon  from Barhill and Galant Guru-Clear as a Bell has been spelled.

Oscars Dream returned to the stables yesterday in fantastic order  after a  lengthy time away from racing and has done  pre-training work at Chelandry.

Miss Cool has been retired and The Word has also.

We are not far away from clipping the horses as the day length has shortened considerably and the cold is setting in,  so their will be some long mornings ahead with the average horse taking 45-60 mins to clip.

04/2011

Christchurch has turned the cold weather  on with gale force winds  and rain overnight, snow on the hills and 2 degrees forecast for overnight temperature..... it was bitterly cold at the trials today.

Faaltless returned to the trials and was very impressive in his first outing for his new campaign, Robbie Hannam making a special trip from Palmerston North to ride him.  Miss Tessa (sister to Bradnor) also trialled and could of easily led and won the trial, however Robbie elected to make her race behind the leading two horses and learn to settle, she is still very field shy and when asked to take a gap was a little hesitant, she will have  her race debut at Blenheim and also back up in the second day.
